Delicious Gluten Free, non GMO Gourmet Popped Corn snacks
That’s how I would describe Cosmos Creations line of gourmet “oven baked corn” not to be confused with popcorn, by any means. The company was kind enough to send me a package of several varieties to taste and review. Of course, me being me, the first thing I did when I opened the box it was to flip each package over and read the labels. What a pleasant surprise to find delicious snacks with a clean, reasonably short list of quality ingredients. With the plethora of unhealthy choices in the Franken food snack isle, it is nice to know I can grab a snack from a company and trust that it is actually food. Such is the case with Cosmos Creations. Each tasty gluten free bite of puffed corn, is free of those nasty trans. fat and every morsel is non-GMO. More good news for those who have dental work, there are no kernels or hulls. The taste of each flavor I tried was scrumptious. Also, you know how companies will package a snack and boast that is it “low calorie” and then it turns out it is because the serving size is 2 bites? Not so with these little babies, the portion size is generous even with the lower calorie count of 60-90 calories per serving.
I want to mention that in general, I follow the 80/20 rule with my clients and my own eating plan; Eighty percent of the time I eat to nourish and nurture by body, twenty percent of the time, I let go of my regimen to allow for my sweets/savory fix, or a glass of wine (or two) and I do not beat myself up for that. It is, in my opinion, a healthy attitude toward eating that is sustainable for most folks, myself included.
I would place Cosmos Creations these under my umbrella of “treats” with a strong emphasis on high quality, ethically made, thoughtfully and minimally processed goodness! When I am in the mood for something savory, I thoroughly enjoy the Sea Salt Vinegar and Aged Cheddar Cracked Pepper. If sweets are calling my name, the Salted Caramel (to die for) and the Coconut Crunch is perfect.
